About Agence Ometz

For over 160 years, Agence Ometz has provided social, educational, and employment services to Montreal’s English-speaking community.

Community Context

English-speaking young adults and mid-career individuals in Quebec face increasing challenges in a competitive labour market, including fewer entry-level hiring opportunities, and shifting industry demands. 

Young Anglophones often experience weaker employment outcomes than their Francophone peers, alongside obstacles like limited work experience and difficulty accessing appropriate career guidance. Adults in career transitions encounter similar constraints, including identifying transferable skills and re-entering the workforce in a bilingual environment.

COF-Supported Project

Agence Ometz is delivering Career Exploration and Job Search Support for English-Speaking Quebecers, a structured, client-centred initiative that addresses community challenges. 

The project features:

• Career exploration supported by psychometric assessment tools
• Personalized action planning and career coaching
• Job search preparation, including CV development and interview coaching

Participants follow tailored pathways supported by employer connections and targeted referrals, while gaining practical job skills and decision-marking tools.
