About Jeffery Hale Community Partners

Jeffery Hale Community Partners works to improve the health and well-being of English-speaking people across the Greater Québec City region. Its programs and services include work preparation and employment assistance for people with autism or intellectual disabilities, as well as services for families, caregivers, isolated seniors, young adults, men and people experiencing mental health challenges.

Community Context

English-speaking people with autism or intellectual disabilities have few adapted employment services available in the region, particularly in English. Standard job-search services may not offer the preparation, workplace adjustment or ongoing guidance some job seekers require. Anxiety, communication needs and social expectations can also affect job retention even when performance is strong.

COF-Supported Project

Through Employment Tools, Skills and Support for English-Speaking Individuals with Special Needs (ETSS), Jeffery Hale Community Partners provides personalized employment services for English-speaking job seekers with autism or intellectual disabilities in the Greater Québec City region. The services reflect each participant’s interests, strengths, circumstances, and employment goals.

The project features:

  • One-on-one employment and career counselling
  • Personalized assessments and job-readiness workshops
  • Warm referrals to English- and French-language employment resources
  • Employer outreach, community work placements and connections to self-employment coaching

Participants receive the preparation, connections, and continued guidance needed to find sustain suitable employment.
