About MWCN
MWCN works to support a strong and vibrant OLMC community across Montérégie West, promoting inclusion, lifelong learning, and equitable access to health, social, and employment services in English.
Community Context
Many rural OLMC communities lack accessible, linguistically appropriate employment supports.
Many services are concentrated in urban centres and delivered primarily, if not exclusively, in French, which limits available guidance, training, and job placement.
COF-Supported Project
With COF support, MWCN responds to this reality with English as an Asset: Boosting Employability, offering:
- Locally delivered workshops
- Personalized counselling
- Targeted skill-building
Programming includes resume and interview preparation, digital literacy, AI readiness, and soft skills such as communication, professionalism, and adaptability.
The program also features culturally relevant support tailored for Indigenous clients and fosters collaboration among communities, employers, and employment organizations to address labour shortages and expand regional employment pathways.
