About QEPC
The Quebec English-Language Production Council (QEPC) represents English-language film and television producers and creatives across Quebec. Its work includes industry research and policy advocacy, mentorship for emerging and mid-career professionals, workshops, networking events, and project-pitching sessions with broadcasters and production companies.
Community Context
Film and television hiring often happens quickly and through existing professional relationships. Jobs may never be advertised, leaving recent graduates, English-speaking and allophone workers, women, and people from equity-seeking communities with few ways to meet employers. In addition, reduced industry funding has intensified competition and financial uncertainty.
COF-Supported Project
QEPC’s English Film & TV Industry Showcase and Employment Fair connects English-speaking job seekers, creatives, and service providers with production companies, funders, and industry organizations.
The project features:
- Individual assessments of participants’ experience, goals, and employment needs
- Profiles used to match participants with current or anticipated hiring needs
- Workshops and presentations on careers, recruitment, and available roles
- Scheduled interviews, one-on-one meetings, and networking events
The project creates direct connections between job seekers, employers, and industry leaders, helping participants access opportunities in film and television.
