About REISA
REISA is a Montreal-based network of OLMC community organizations working collaboratively to enhance employment and employability services for OLMCs in the city and surrounding municipalities. It focuses on coordination, knowledge-sharing, and practical improvements that increase access to high-quality supports.
Community Context
English-speaking youth in East Montreal face higher unemployment than their French-speaking peers, with limited access to linguistically and culturally appropriate services.
Many struggle to navigate predominantly Francophone work environments, where language expectations can obscure their actual skills and potential.
COF-Supported Project
With help from the COF, Bridging Futures: Employability Pathways for English-Speaking Youth in East Montreal features:
- Targeted employability workshops
- Mentorship opportunities
- Partnerships with local employers
Youth gain practical tools such as resume and interview preparation, networking skills, and exposure to diverse sectors.
