About SEIZE
SEIZE works with English-speaking communities across Quebec to connect individuals to employment pathways within the social solidarity economy.
Community Context
While the social solidarity economy represents a significant source of employment across the province, access remains limited for many English-speaking jobseekers. Hiring in this sector often depends on networks and familiarity, creating additional barriers for those without direct connections or mentorship.
COF-Supported Project
SEIZE is delivering the WISE (Work in the Solidarity Economy) Match program, a cohort-based employability initiative for English-speaking youth in Montreal who are looking to begin or transition into meaningful, values-aligned careers in the social solidarity economy.
The project features:
- Individual employment support, including CV development and job search planning
- Paid mentorship aligned with participants’ career goals
- Networking and sector orientation within social economy enterprises
The initiative also connects participants with sector-specific opportunities while offering viable referral pathways.
